Avalon Beach House
The Avalon Beach House aims to maximise light and space in a modern combination of timber, steel and stone.
The rear of the house integrates exposed timber rafters and a raked ceiling with a structural steel frame - which provides support for an array of glass, louvred windows and bi-fold doors opening onto a spacious back deck and pool area. Inside, the house features timber flooring throughout, an exposed brick feature wall, and an integrated Sonos Multimedia System.
Key works completed here include: demolition and removal of existing asbestos-clad structure; integration of bones of original structure into new design (complying development); excavation of block in preparation for new ground slab and pool; and 3D modelling of wall and roof frames to achieve a complex design with 7 individual roof structures.
